Danish-Iranian agreement on export finance in place

On 4 January 2016, EKF and the Iranian Ministry of Finance signed a cooperation agreement ensuring a better financial basis for trade between the two countries once the sanctions are lifted.

When the sanctions against Iran are lifted, and they are expected to be lifted soon, the cooperation agreement between EKF and the Iranian Ministry of Finance will facilitate trade between the two countries.

For instance, it will be possible for EKF to issue guarantees covering loans to Iranian companies who place orders in Denmark. Similar to what EKF does in so many other markets, EKF will also be able to insure Danish companies against non-payment from Iran.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Mohammad Khaza’ie, Deputy Minister from the Iranian Ministry of Finance, and Anette Eberhard, CEO of EKF. The Danish and Iranian foreign ministers were also present at the signing.

The signing made front page of the English-language newspaper Financial Tribune.
